Telemedicine
We provide virtual options for access to the expertise of Oral Medicine specialists. One-on-one video visits are most appropriate for patients who need to check in with their doctor about test results or ongoing symptoms, and for previously diagnosed oral conditions. Please call our office at 415.476.2045 or email us at oralmed@ucsf.edu to schedule a telemedicine visit. After you have scheduled an appointment, you will receive detailed instructions via email. You will be asked to create a separate portal account through our telemedicine platform (Zoom). We advise that you log on at least 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment to make sure you do not experience any technical issues. This can be done from your smart phone, tablet, or computer with a video camera. We cannot guarantee coverage of benefits for this service, so we encourage you to call your insurance plan directly and verify coverage of benefits.
Your First Appointment
To schedule your first appointment, please call us at 415.476.2045 or email us at oralmed@ucsf.edu.
Please bring all records related to previous treatment of these conditions, and fill out our registration and medical history form. Before seeing one of the oral medicine specialists, you will meet with an oral medicine resident and/or student (working under the supervision of the faculty) to review your past medical history and perform an examination. The attending oral medicine specialist will then see you together with the resident and student. Our team's top priority is to provide you with excellent, patient-centered care.
